Technology issues were mostly higher ahead of the opening bell and United Internet AG reportedly is planning a new tablet computer to challenge Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) iPad, according to a Bloomberg report. The device will use Google's (GOOG) Android operating system, the report says. Meanwhile, Toshiba unveiled a touch-screen mini-notebook PC that can also serve as an electronic book reader, reports The Wall Street Journal.
